Central State Bank has been family owned and controlled since the Haesemeyer family purchased the bank in 1936.
A holding company (S.C. Financial Corp.) was formed in 1979 for estate planning purposes. Common Equity was transferred to the owner’s children, Craig Haesemeyer and Susan Jorgensen.
Craig Haesemeyer bought his sister’s share of ownership in November 1994. He has been active as Chairman/CEO since November 1994, and a board member since 1976.
The bank installed outside, experienced Board of Directors in 1994. There are a total of six members, including the bank President.
In March of 2004, Brian Disney joined the bank as Vice President of Operations. He is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa and brings 20 years of banking experience to CSB. Brian was promoted to President in September, 2007.
Damon Morrison became Senior Vice President /Senior Credit Officer in October 2009. He came to the bank with over 15 years of experience in commercial lending and loan administration management. His last position was Director of Credit Management at a $550 million bank. Damon is the new chair of our Large Loan Committee.
Kyle Thompson is Central State Bank’s Vice President and Senior Loan Officer. Kyle joined the bank in September 2009 bringing over 12 years of experience in commercial lending. At his previous bank, Kyle managed a $190 million commercial real estate portfolio. Kyle is also a member of our Large Loan Committee.
Dan Downs joins CSB in 2010 as a Vice President/Lending Manager. Dan brings over seven years of commercial lending and management experience. Dan is also a member of the bank’s Large Loan Committee.
Added in September 2004 to Central State Bank was Cindy Schelling. She is the Assistant Vice President of the Loan department. Cindy has 16 years of banking experience and is a local native. As well as being an area banker, Cindy has also worked for the Principal Financial Group for seven years.
Along with S.C. Financial, Craig Haesemeyer also owns a private investment-banking firm, Transcontinental Capital Partners (TCP), headquartered in the San Francisco area. Craig is in the Midwest/Iowa at least one week every month, more often as business opportunities and client relationships dictate.
